Every campaign gets an Adventure Log, a blog for your adventures!

While the wiki is great for organizing your campaign world, it’s not the best way to chronicle your adventures. For that purpose, you need a blog!

The Adventure Log will allow you to chronologically order the happenings of your campaign. It serves as the record of what has passed. After each gaming session, come to the Adventure Log and write up what happened. In time, it will grow into a great story!

Best of all, each Adventure Log post is also a wiki page! You can link back and forth with your wiki, characters, and so forth as you wish.

One final tip: Before you jump in and try to write up the entire history for your campaign, take a deep breath. Rather than spending days writing and getting exhausted, I would suggest writing a quick “Story So Far” with only a summary. Then, get back to gaming! Grow your Adventure Log over time, rather than all at once.

The Sixteen Harbingers of Doom: A Narrative on the Astral Wars

Part 1

They say, even though it has now been many years, that you can still see the smoke rise from the mighty city of Copopan, what was once a bastion of culture and civilization. It offered protection from the wilderness as well as a place to witness some of the leading intellectuals of the Western World. A city of love and celebration, it had been centuries since it has last tasted war, out of living memory. With every generation of royalty comes new problems, however, and less than a century after King Stallard preceded his father on the throne had doom come to this city in the form of the North Men. Very few survived, most survivors being taken prisoner. There were seven who found each other in this city, seven heroes who may stand a chance actually leaving this place. As they ventured through the city they found each other, thus irrevocably tying their destinies together, though not in the fashion that they might expect.

While examining the lost castle they found the old Castellan. He begged of the one named “Kaine,” loved of Avandrah and coveted of Lolth, to save the Kingdom’s princess, who’s name has since been lost of history books, and offered him a key to the treasury as a preemptive reward since the Castellan did not think that he would live to give it to him once he succeeded. The Castellan also told Kaine where this treasury was, a secret Kaine kept to himself in order to force the others, whom at the time he did not know and, probably rightfully, did not trust.

With some reluctance at not going immediately for the prize, the heroes saved the princess rescuing her from the grasp of the North Men. Their trials were not over, however, as shortly after they found a Drow baby, with the markings of Lolth on it. It was at this point that the party met the young version of the Mythical Knight Sir Vance, now more commonly known as the Man of Many Colors in the many other scriptures, parables and history books. This is the first record that exists of Sir Vance, taken from many notes, as well as annotations, by the party. Sir Vance took them to Lord Stannis, who was the man that Sir Vance followed at the time, who had made a deal with Lolth, this baby a part of the Ritual that they would cast.

All reports on this incident have been very poor, most of things said do not actually match up to each other. What we do believe to have happened was that many people were sacrificed, who then turned into spiders. There were also many other strange acts, some records show that there was slaughter of people who were trying to interfere, the murder of many monks and clerics in the city as well as various, explicit acts done in the name of Lolth.

Our heroes were captured, and even made a failed escape attempt. They were instead freed by Sir Vance, who advised them to find what was left of the Copopan treasury. The records are also very poor as to what happened in the treasury, but the only thing of note was the recovering of four magical items, though it is not within the intent of this history to record such trifles. These are not the Legendary Weapons that are still sought after to this day.

To this day a lot about the Sixteen is still debated by many philosophers and historians. This comes from a few issues, mainly that who make up the Sixteen is still debated as well. The conventional thought says that from birth these Sixteen were selected by fate, supposing Fate in a personified form. Many historians stand by this opinion, though they rarely reference Fate and keep who did the choosing more ambiguous. A newer school of thought, who are currently in the process of going through all of our records and histories and writing their own annotations and new versions of the stories, states that the Sixteen were actually chosen by their own actions. They say by doing great and terrible things they made themselves Sixteen, worth the notice of the Gods. Yes, I am in fact talking about my contemporaries the Mortal Right. Then there are the followers of the Son, who believe that a greater force created the Sixteen as a test for the gods, to see that if they were worthy of the task put before them. In order to keep this a history I am not going to share my own opinion on the matter. I will say that I believe that the Sixteen did in fact know there own nature, but I only share that so that you can have a better understanding of the events that happened.

It is at this point, shortly after reuniting with the Copopan Princess, that the Heroes started to hear about the Sixteen. The party decided that they should go to Long Garden for help, the city run by Halflings and Gnomes, in order to form an army capable of battling not only the North Men, but also the evil forces that surrounded themselves around Lord Stannis, the once good. This journey was fraught with dreams, starting to awaken their awareness to the existence of the Sixteen, they all became more and more interested in this mystery. After reaching Long Garden it was decided to split the party into two groups: One to help build up the defenses and the other to scout the surrounding area. Lucius Rastelli and Servantes, the Duo of Blood, were captured by the Goblins and shown before King Eric, the Strange. They were able to get some information about the Sixteen, and what they might be. They also learned that King Eric thought of himself as one of the Sixteen, despite the fact that he was reluctant to admit his suspicions.

How King Eric came into knowledge about the Sixteen, as well as start to suspect his own identity as one is connected to the same reasons that he is named by his people as the Strange. That is because of Eric’s history, one of education and high learning despite his race. This could also come from the fact that he was physically different from most other Goblins, he was constantly separate from them. Growing up without a father, despite illegitimate children not being uncommon, probably was what led him to such fervent worship of Grumsh, whom he saw as a father figure. When this strange goblin started to bring the different tribes together he must have seemed like a Messiah to these Goblins, who knew nothing of tactics and were dumbfounded how tribes smaller than them led by Eric could so easily defeat them. King Eric claimed that Grumsh talked to him in his sleep, telling him of the Sixteen. This seems like the most logical reason for how he knew of the Sixteen, which is why he is still considered as one of the Sixteen.
